Playa Tamarindo is about a 40 minute drive from our condo. This is where people like to surf. This is a busy, touristy beach. You will have a lot of people trying to sell you things on this beach.
Tamarindo is a fun place to go and eat, there are many delicious restaurants there. Lots of nice souvenir stores too. You will have to pay to park. Local people usually as about $3 for parking. They will watch your car and make sure it is safe.
