Our Potrero Beach Condo is our happy place. We love to start our day walking peacefully on the beach, grounding our feet in the sand and feeling the waves. Just a short walk to Playa Penca, one of the locals favorite beaches in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica.
In the afternoon we will stop by for a late lunch in one of the many local restaurants. So many favorites to choose from.
Sunsets we like to spend at Playa Penca or at Las Brisas or another restaurant facing West. Evening sunsets are like watching fireworks.
In the evening we like to do some night swimming in the condo pool. It is usually empty, but sometimes there are other friendly guests to converse with.
At night we like to play a game with friends on our patio or find something good to watch on Netflix.
Rinse and repeat, relax…
Potrero is a picturesque coastal town located in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. Its history dates back to the early 20th century when it was primarily a fishing village. The region’s pristine beaches and abundant marine life attracted locals and visitors alike.
In the mid-20th century, Potrero began to witness gradual development with the construction of roads and infrastructure, making it more accessible to tourists. The town’s economy diversified, incorporating agriculture and tourism, as the natural beauty of its surroundings became increasingly popular. Over the years, Potrero has transformed into a sought-after destination for travelers seeking a laid-back beach experience.
In recent decades, the region has experienced a surge in real estate development, with many vacation homes and resorts springing up along its coastline. This growth has brought economic prosperity to the area, but it has also raised concerns about sustainable development and preserving the pristine environment that has drawn people to Potrero for generations. Today, Potrero continues to evolve while maintaining its natural charm and cultural roots.
